4 baking apples such as gala, granny smith or rome
⅓ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1. Peel and core apples the chop or slice *
2. In a sauté pan melt butter over medium heat. Stir in apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water.
3. Cook stirring occasionally for 4-6 minutes until slightly softened.
4. In a small bowl whisk cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water. Add to the pan while stirring and continue to cook until filling is slightly thickened. Be careful not to overcook apples
You can leave the skin on the apple if you prefer.
